Polyurethane over acrylic sealer

Can I use spar urethane over acrylic sealer to make can more durable for outside use?

Hello and thanks for your question... Cheryl here with an answer.

I know that Spar Urethane is oil based. My concern would be that it would yellow over time. If the item will be outdoors seasonally, I'd suggest using a non-yellowing exterior varnish with UV protection.

Water based spar urethane

I use a water-based spar urethane on my front door. It is a wooden door with fleur-de-lis carved into it. My friend painted the fleur-de-lis in various colors. We protect it with the water-based spar urethane. Works really well. I used a satin finish one.
