I am using a large 48" vinyl clear canvas. Can I use a glass paint without heating in oven? 2. could I possibly use a heat gun to cure?

Specifically which glass paint do you have in mind? Some air cure while others need heat setting.
As for a heat gun on vinyl, I don't think it's a good idea. The vinyl will melt or at the very least it will buckle and warp.
