Wooden Hat Boxes - Lid sticks to base

by Ginny

I paint designs on wooden hat boxes. Can you tell me how I can keep the lid from sticking to the sides once it's finished?

Hi Ginny, great question! I use Minwax paste finishing wax. Apply as instructed to the entire hat box exterior. Then buff to a gorgeous sheen. This will eliminate the stickiness. It also adds extra protection to your painted box.

You can find the finishing wax in hardware and paint stores. I hope this helps!
