What is the best lighting for my studio?

by Sue O'Neill

Hello all,
I am blessed to have my "studio" in a corner of my home office. I am struggling with getting good lighting; where to place the light, overhead, right above the easel?

I have a ceiling mounted chandelier in the center of the room with a corner designated for my painting.

Would appreciate any and all suggestions!

Thanks,
Sue

I like to use a desk Ott lamp (full spectrum light) and I place it in front of my working zone so it does't create a shadow when I'm working.

Ideally you also have some good ambient light filling the room the room.

North light coming in from a window is also nice during the daytime.

I hope this helps.
