Can I put my PTO 160 with mineral spirits instead of the thinner?

No.

You need to use the manufacturer's specific thinner. It's all chemistry. If you add something foreign you won't get the results you want and the paint may become unstable. Plus I don't know if you'd be creating unhealthy fumes...
