So… What Qualifies Me To Do This?

Great question!

Since 1993, I’ve taught painters… from beginners who wondered “Can I really do this?” to experienced artists perfecting tricky shading and highlights techniques.

Teaching in-person classes was so much fun. I loved my home studio. What a feeling to paint shoulder to shoulder with curious painters. The satisfaction of watching confidence grow stroke by stroke, breakthroughs happen, and joy rippling across every face. And oh boy, the laughter!!

Then COVID changed everything. My studio went quiet, and I realized something important… creativity doesn’t have to wait. You don’t need a physical classroom to explore, experiment, and grow as a painter. As a result, my online studio was born.

Why I Do This

Decorative has provided me great joy and pleasure for over half my life. I have enjoyed the process of creation and the company of other creative people over the years. I love to teach and I love to paint. It has been amazing.

I have also seen may changes over the years. It seems that fewer people are painting and studios have closed. Getting access to high quality resources and Decorative Painting training has become more difficult. Will this artform die? I certainly hope not.
