Teaches Mixed Media and Decorative Painting!

Hi, I'm Cheryl Poulin.  I'm told I have a painting style that's playful and that I'm very detail oriented at the same time.  Well, I do like to bring my best to the easel and to everything I do.

My works can be found in homes in the Ottawa region and as far away as Great Britain and Australia.  I think that's so cool!

I was born in 1962 in Montreal, Quebec and yes, I do speak French. 

My first creative exploration was in decorative arts.

After only a few short years I mastered many styles and numerous painting techniques.

More recently, I turned my attention to mixed media where I get to create in a more abstract way. I find it to be a very different experience from decorative painting but I do bring all of those skills to this art form as well.  By practicing both styles, I keep my skills finely honed.

I prefer to use mostly acrylics and I do love adding texture and obscure “found” objects to some of my compositions.

As much as I love to paint, my passion also lies in teaching and I do that  from my home-based studio, Earmark Decorative Painting Studio in a tranquil forested setting in Dunrobin, Ontario. I'm known for having some pretty lively and energetic workshops!

I'm also a Certified Professional Coach and I use my training to empower both men and women by using vision boards as a way of improving specific areas of their lives.  Here's more information on what a vision board workshop can do for you.

I've been exploring the arts most of my life and I've been teaching for more than 20 years. Some of my designs have been featured in painting magazines, both in print and digitally.

My teaching methods are well suited to the beginner, intermediate and advanced student.
