Painting vintage tablecloth

I have a california handprint vintage table cloth that has lost some of its metallic paint.what would be the best way to re paint? I believe the fabric is woven cotton. I do not want any texture to the paint, I would like it to be/feel like part of the cloth....what type of paint would you recommend, and would a pen be better.I will be painting over some of the existing metallic paint that has been partially washed off, and in other areas, has been completely washed away. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.
