Wonderful twisted Easter Basket

by Tammy Spalsbury
(Michigan )

I made this basket for my 2 year old granddaughter. The baskets are from the dollar store. I bought poly coated rope, 1/4" a hot glue gun and hot glue sticks. Fabric put inbetween the baskets optional. I started at the rim, glue the tip of the rope so it won't come apart. Glue the tip of rope to the very edge of the basket, and glue sections and stick it to the basket as you go. Winding the rope all the way around till the basket is covered. First I measured for the middle of the basket. Then I measured how long I wanted my handle. I made the handle out of the same 3 colors of rope. I braided the handle first, then twisted one end as I was gluing it, then do the other end of handle. And a few stitches on the under side of the spirals on the handle with a curved needle, for extra strength.
