FolkArt glass enamels... adding wet paint onto dried paint

by Mia
(US)

I'm using FolkArt's gloss enamel paints for glass.

I recently came across some information that said the project painting should be completed within 24 hours, and that adding wet paint onto paint that has dried for more than 24 hours will not adhere properly. (this is even before the object is baked.)

As I plan to paint very detailed glass items and projects will certainly take longer than 1 day to paint, I'm concerned about durability.

Has anyone verified that this is actually true?

Hi Mia,
Cheryl here from YDPR...

You can use multiple layers of paint. When you're done, wait a couple of days if you have a lot of layers, then seal the painted area with the recommended Clear Medium by the same manufacturer.

From here, wait an hour before baking.

Here is more information directly from Plaid, the manufacturer. Just copy and paste the link below into your browser.

Hope this helps.
