painting on wood

by Gerrie
(Fort Collins, CO USA)

I am starting to paint again after not doing so for many years. When I painted on wood I always used a wood sealer before applying the paints to keep the paint from running and such. I can't remember what that sealer was. I know I used to be able to buy it right with the paints but I am not seeing anything like it. Can you please tell me what I need to buy. Thank you

Sealing Wood
by: Cheryl

Hey Gerrie!
Cheryl here from Your Decorative Painting Resource! Great to hear you're getting back into the swing of painting. Yeah!!!!!

Look for an all purpose wood sealer from manufacturers like DecoArt, JoSonja, and Plaid. All purpose wood sealers are readily available from most craft supply stores...or online.

I hope this helps!
