How to fix old cracked puffy paint

by Rachel
(Herscher, IL)

Hi, I have several sweatshirts that have puff paint designs on them. They are my grandmothers. A good friend of hers painted them, but my grandmother doesn't like to wear them. I took them to make pillows for her. In transit, one of the designs cracked. Is there any way to fix it?

Puff Paint for Fabric
by: Cheryl

Hi Rachel,

I don't believe that the fabric puff paint can be repaired.

It would be good to know which brand of puff paint was used. If you can find that out then the manufacturer would be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Your project sounds lovely and perhaps the crack can be fixed with a touch up of more of the same paint?

Good luck and if I learn more I'll let you know.

Thanks Cheryl,
That was kind of what I was thinking. I believe the original painter has passed away, so I doubt I can determine the brand. I may just try to touch it up or see what happens when I stuff the pillow. Maybe the stuffing will sort of keep it in place!
