Hi Randy, Cheryl here from Your Decorative Painting Resource.
I would definitely select a heat set paint on the back of the glass beads.
To protect from the sun's UV rays, you can spray the beads with a gloss exterior varnish that contains UV protection.
The gloss of the varnish will not interfere with the shine of the beads. Make sure you wipe down the beads with rubbing alcohol before spraying the varnish.
I hope this helps.

Paint for glass beads by: Rachel

I’m wondering how durable glass paint/faux leading is giving shifting temperatures? Or, if some glass paint brands are better for this than others? For
